Meet the team
SUMMER LOVE
Director, producer, writer and cinematographer, Summer Love gained a reputation early on as Canada’s “it” girl for fresh, edgy pop culture docs. From films that explore the underground music and fashion scene in Montreal to pop and politics, Love’s films have one thing in common; they aim to enlighten and inspire.
In 2005, Summer Love founded DeltaTIME with Jane Michener. Their production company quickly made its mark with their first feature documentary, Sounds Like a Revolution which captured the emergence of a new wave of protest music in America in the lead up to the 2008 Presidential election. This thought-provoking documentary garnered critical acclaim worldwide, winning "Best Documentary" at Raindance Film Festival, "Most Inspiring Film" at Orlando Film Festival and was honoured to open the Amnesty International Film Festival. Broadcast globally and on The Current TV in the US to over 30 million viewers, "Sounds Like a Revolution could be a tonic for the activists still trying to improve the world.”– JASON ANDERSON, SPINNER
Since 2004, DeltaTIME has enjoyed exclusive collaborations with Spin Master, Canada's largest toy company. Through this partnership, Summer Love and her team have produced a range of short and long-form documentaries, including The Great Canadian Toy Story for Netflix Canada and more recently, How to Make a Hit Toy, a 90 minute vérité feature which follows the life a toy, from concept to completion. The film is scored by Todor Kobokov, with music performed by members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and premiered at the Sony Centre for the Arts in 2019.
Current works in development include an in-depth biography on the controversial life and musical legacy of blues legend Johnny “Guitar” Watson, an environmental series on urban forests and a new, secret music feature.
